Found Fruit Creator,
Goldie Mariola
Goldie's passion for sustainable building ignited in 2014 at the Earthship Academy in Argentina, inspiring her to craft homes from repurposed materials. This led her to Crestone, Colorado, a haven for alternative construction, where she and her partner Matt immersed themselves in the community. Drawn to Crestone’s unique building environment, she has become a key figure in the Crestone Energy Fair, directing the Home Tours since 2019. These tours offer immersive experiences in diverse, naturally built structures, showcasing techniques like strawbale, earthbag, scoria bag, hempcrete and Earthship construction. Goldie also spearheads the Ongoing Education Series, organizing year-round workshops that provide hands-on training in building modalities like natural plasters, adobe floors, permaculture and community resilience.
Goldie and Matt built their own Earthship in Crestone, a testament to their commitment to sustainable living. Now, Goldie passionately shares her expertise by hosting and teaching workshops, empowering others to create ecologically sound homes. She focuses on providing hands-on learning experiences, allowing individuals to deepen their practical skills and understanding of sustainable building. Her work fosters a growing community of conscious builders, all inspired by the possibilities of natural, sustainable and repurposed materials.
